Bhang is an edible mixture made from the buds, leaves, and flowers of the female cannabis, or marijuana, plant. Bhang plays a role in Ayurvedic medicine and is promoted as a remedy to various ailments, including nausea, vomiting, and physical pain.

The Timur berry grows on the Zanthoxylum armatum, a thorny shrub which grow at altitudes of around 2,500 mtr. It takes about 3 to 5 years and the expertise of the local villagers for the shrub to flourish and produce its first berries.
